In February 2006 a small group of us began a prayer group and Bible study at Pastor Asher’s La Mirada home. For three years, we gathered every Sunday evening; we prayed for the nations, those in leadership, marriages, healing of the sick, salvation for the lost, families to be re-united, work issues to be resolved and any other need that was presented to us.
We specifically prayed for the Lord to move us to a higher level. After three years of prayer, the Lord led Pastor Asher to begin this church.
He shared his vision with his Pastor, Bryan Parish of Calvary Chapel La Mirada. Pastor Bryan, along with his whole congregation ordained Asher on January 11, 2009. When Pastor Asher took this step of faith, God provided a number of people as support to launch and grow the new church.
On February 8, 2009 the church had its first service. With no place to gather, Calvary Chapel La Mirada graciously permitted us to use their facilities for Sunday evening services. The church continued to meet there for three months. The Lord then placed it on Pastor Asher’s heart to move to the city of La Palma. In May 2009 we began morning services at the La Palma Community Center next to La Palma Central Park.
We are excited to see where God will take us next and remain in prayer that He will provide us with a permanent building. The Lord has been good to us and we know by faith that he will continue to bless us.
- Romans 3:23 ALL HAVE DONE WRONG at one and because of this we fall short of God’s perfection. You must believe God when He says that all people, including yourself, are sinful, by nature and by choice; because of this, we cannot come into God’s presence. What we earn with sin is death.
- Romans 5:8 GOD LOVES YOU, even though we have all done wrong, God sent Jesus to die on the cross and be resurrected. God demonstrated this love supremely by giving His only son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice, dying in your place.
- Romans 6:23 JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS. God warns of eternal judgment for those who die without His salvation. All that is required is to accept Jesus the Messiah as your substitute on the cross and the Lord of your life.
- Romans 10:9, 10, 13 CONFESS YOUR ACCEPTANCE, salvation comes freely to all who ask Him for it, through repentance and faith. To ask Jesus to be Lord of your life, open your mouth and ask God, with all your heart, mind and soul.
Prayer for Salvation
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. Lord Jesus, I ask you to be my Savior, to forgive my sins, to cleans me by the power of your bloodshed for me on the cross. I ask you, Lord Jesus, to come into my life and be the Lord of my life. My life is yours to direct. Dear Lord Jesus, I ask you to send your Holy Spirit to come live inside me to empower me to live for you and to teach me your will. I thank you for dying for me and saving me. I thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit and the guidance He will give to me. I thank you for adopting me as your son/daughter. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
